A46 Little Beckford Trail Hole Investigations

Client: National Highways

Duration: 3 Weeks

Value: £45k

Job Description

CLM 200.1

CLM were given instruction to carry out surveys in the verges at several locations along the A46 at Little Beckford,
Tewkesbury.

The surveys included Ground Penetrating Radar scanning, CAT and Genny scanning, LDE scanning Slit Trenches and
GPS equipment to locate, identify and map the underground services at each location.
In order to achieve this CLM employed CAMPS Highways and Terra Measurement Utilities to assist with the works
under traffic management from Chevron (provided by KIER).

A total of eight sites were surveyed, seven of which required slit trench excavations of varying lengths but all to a
depth of 1200mm. Site 9 required no excavation.

Each site was initially located and marked up by Terra Measurements using GPS then a wildlife survey was carried out
prior to CAMPS clearing any required vegetation to enable access to the sites.

Terra Measurements surveyed and marked up their findings before CLM commenced the slit trenches whilst
continually scanning during the excavations.
